DANIELS' MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA WINS VIDEO OF THE YEAR!
UK Music Video Awards 2011 - entry deadline extended!
The entry deadline for the UK Music Video Awards 2011 in the best video, technical achievement, live, advertising and innovation categories has been extended.
The original deadline of this coming Monday has been extended to next Friday, 19 August. That means there is one more week left to enter the UK MVAs 2011 from today (August 12). All work must be uploaded to the judging platform by midnight in the UK (BST) on the 19th. This will be the final deadline for entry, and the UK MVAs will not be able accept any entries after that time for these categories.
Videos can be entered into one best video category only - and this year there are many categories to choose from as the MVAs now has a British, international and budget award for each music genre: pop, dance, urban, rock/indie, alternative. So, you can't enter the same video into best pop and best dance for example, and you have to choose between UK, international and budget as a sub-category. Full definitions are on the website.
There are eight technical achievement categories, for work by British individuals and/or work on a UK-commissioned video: animation, art direction/design, cinematography, choreography (a brand new award at the MVAs), editing, styling, telecine, and visual effects.
The entry deadline has also been extended to the MVA awards for the best direction of a live music performance and for the best music ad or viral, as well as the innovation award for those pieces of work which really push the definition of moving image for music from anywhere in the world.
The votes have been cast, the ballots counted, and the judging panels have met to choose who will contest the honours at the big awards night of the year.
