Jimmy Brown - 9th Aug 2011

There's less than one week left to enter your work in the majority of the categories in this year's UK Music Video Awards.

There's less than one week left to enter your work in the majority of the categories in this year's UK Music Video Awards. The newly expanded genre categories - Best Pop, Dance, Indie/Rock, Alternative and Urban - which now encompass sub-categories for UK, international and budget videos, have seen entries pouring in from home and abroad, but there's still time to get your videos in front of the judges. Full definitions of the categories are available on the brand new UKMVA website where you can also enter your video directly online. In the Technical categories, the art direction category has been expanded to include design and a brand new category for best choreography in a video has been introduced. There are also the usual awards for cinematography, telecine, animation, visual effects and styling. Additional categories in contention include: ?Best Live Music Coverage This category is for the best direction of a live music performance from the last year; ?Best Music Ad - TV or Online
This award honours the most creative piece of moving image promotion for a music artist, product, company or service produced in the UK in the past year, or outside the UK for a British commissioning client. ?Innovation Award This award recognizes work that extends the definition of the medium of music video, either through an innovative concept or design, or through the innovative use of technology. The Innovation Award is open to both UK and international entries. All of the contending work must have been completed and delivered to the commissioning client between August 1st 2010 and July 31st 2011. The entry deadline is 6pm GMT on August 15th so make sure you've given yourself plenty of time to complete the online entry forms and upload your work by the deadline. Entry fees have been combined with the upload fees this year and cost £65 + VAT per entry. If you're in any doubt about the eligibility of your entry, or have any other queries, please contact the MVAs team on info@ukmva.com
