The seventh Birds Eye View Film Festival begins today (March 8th) in London - on the centenary of International Women's Day - running until March 17th with a programme of feature films, documentaries, short films, special events - and its now annual celebration of women filmmakers' work in music videos and fashion films.

The seventh Birds Eye View Film Festival begins today (March 8th) in London - on the centenary of International Women's Day - running until March 17th with a programme of feature films, documentaries, short films, special events - and its now annual celebration of women filmmakers' work in music videos and fashion films. <em>Fashion Loves Film: Art Or Commerce</em> takes place tomorrow (Mar 9th) at NFT1 at the BFI Southbank at 6pm, where new works will be shown by artists Linder Sterling, Julie Verhoeven and Katerina Jebb, who's recent video work <em>Simulacrum and Hyperbole</em> - starring Tilda Swinton, Kristen Scott Thomas and Kylie Minogue - will be have it's UK premiere at the festival. New work by filmmakers Ruth Hogben, Stephanie Di Giusto and emerging filmmakers will also be screened, and a panel from the fashion industry and a selection of the filmmakers will discuss where this genre sits between art and commerce.
