David Knight - 29th Sept 2010

Adam Hashemi's video for Danish electronic artist and producer Trentemøller's ...Even Though You're With Another Girl exists entirely within its own deliriously strange universe.

Its a mid-20th century-set psycho-surreal drama-cum-musical production number that evokes Dennis Potter's Pennies From Heaven - but with an extra level Scandinavian inscrutability and angst. You may not understand it, but it creates a lingering effect - rather like Adam's superbly strange, sexually-charged video for Oh No Ono's Swim, shown at BUG last year...

Bold and imaginative stuff - beautifully shot by the impeccable Lasse Frank - last year's winner of the MVA for best cinematography.
