UK Music Video Awards: judging begins in the next 24 hours

With organisers confirming a 10% increase in the number of entries for this year's event, judging for the 2010 UK Music Video Awards is due to begin in the next 24 hours.
The electoral college of Jury Members has also been extended this year to over 350 people -from across the UK music video industry and beyond - who will be invited to participate in the first round of judging online. In this first round, the entries for 14 of the award categories will be available to be view on the UK MVA judging platform hosted by BEAM.
Each Jury Member will be allocated a 'genre' category, the entries for which will all contend for the Video of the Year prize, and a technical category. Jury Members will be asked to select their six favourite works in the two categories they are judging, and the most popular selections will go on to the second stage of judging next month, when panels of industry professionals will meet to debate and pick each MVA winner.
Judging for the Best Music Ad, Best Live Coverage and Innovation will commence next week when Jury Members will be given a preview of the entries ahead of live judging sessions to be held in the second week of September.
