Two WIZ-directed music films were among the five nominations for the best video prize at the NME Shockwaves Awards announced on Monday evening.

WIZ's dramatic videos for Oasis's <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2009/02/11/oasis%E2%80%99s-falling-down-by-wiz/" target="_blank">Falling Down</a> (pictured) and Kasabian's <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2009/05/05/kasabian%E2%80%99s-fire-by-wiz/" target="_blank">Fire</a> are accompanied on the best video shortlist by Richard Ayoade's minimalist video for Arctic Monkeys' <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2009/10/26/arctic-monkeys%E2%80%99-cornerstone-by-richard-ayoade/" target="_blank">Cornerstone</a>, Andy Morahan's naval-themed clip for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2009/10/08/biffy-clyro%E2%80%99s-captain-by-andy-morahan/" target="_blank">The Captain</a>, and James Caddick's cheese-rolling documentary for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2009/06/16/maccabees%E2%80%99-can-you-give-it-by-james-caddick/" target="_blank">Can You Give It</a>. WIZ is also nominated in the Best Album Artwork category for his photography for Kasabian's West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum. Among the other nominations, Kasabian and Noel Fielding are nominated in the new Giving It Back Fan award for their 'free' video for Vlad The Impaler video - directed by Ayoade - and Spike Jonze's <em>Where The Wild Things Are</em> is nominated in the Best Film category, together with <em>In the Loop</em>, <em>Inglourious Basterds</em>, <em>The Twilight Saga: New Moon</em>, and the Marc Webb-directed <em>(500) Days Of Summer</em>. This year's NME Awards are set to take place at the 02 Academy Brixton on February 24.
