David Knight - 11th June 2009
After eleven years at EMI in London, six as chief video commissioner and then head of creative at EMI Records, Katie Griffiths leaves the label tomorrow (June 12th) to become a freelance commissioner.
Over the course of her career at the major, Katie has commissioned acclaimed and award-winning videos for the likes of Sigur Ros, LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, Roisin Murphy, Badly Drawn Boy, and many more.
Recently she has been working with Lily Allen, commissioning the videos for The Fear and It's Not Fair, and her final video as an EMI staffer is the new Lily Allen video directed by Jake Scott.
After a two-month break, Katie will begin applying her immense experience to commission videos and other music-based projects on a freelance basis at the end of the summer. She can be contacted now at katiegriffiths@mac.com.
