Also a model and a recording artist in his own right, James did much to help popularise New York hip-hop and streetwear fashions in the UK from the early 1980s onwards, through his involvement in hip-hop club The Language Lab, fashion label Stussy, and the ultra-hip Buffalo collective.
An appreciation of James's contributions to fashion, music and film is at The Look, and a Facebook group has been established, The Don And Not Forgotten as "a fan page for anybody who had the good fortune to cross paths with Mr.James Lebon... A Bon Vivant, a groover, a warm soul, a west London and worldwide superstar, a husband, a father, a friend ...And someone who was definitely cooler than you..."
James's memorial service will be held at the West London Crematorium, Harrow Road this Saturday, January 3rd, at 11.30am.
