Shown at Bug 07: Sia’s The Girl You Lost by Kris Moyes
David Knight - 6th June 2008
Their first one for Buttons was entirely focussed on Sia's face being pulled into any number of contorted (and painful) 'looks' with tape, clothing pins - and condoms. But the video for The Girl You Lost moves things onto a new level. Here Sia performs the song (which is excellent) while playing a dozen different larger-than-life female characters. It's unusual, hugely inventive - courageous even. Each character is a lovely visual creation, played with great gusto by Sia. And then Kris Moyes has enough ideas left to climax the whole thing by creating an extraordinary artwork out of bits of household items. Great stuff.
