Shown at BUG 06: El Guapo Stuntteam’s Back from the Dead by Toon Aerts
"He's not my creation," Toon explains. "He's the brother of the band's singer and he sets himself alight during their performances. They're pretty inspiring guys."
So inspiring that after the horror movie-inspired death and destruction in Battles, Toon then upped the ante: last year he directed a follow-up, for Back From The Grave, which does exactly what it says on the tin, and then some (cost: ?4K).
It's basically The Evil Dead wrapped up in three and half minutes of white-knuckle action and gore. And laughs. It's brilliant, and now the talented Toon, who mainly directs commercials (he's at Czar Films for ads), is planning the final part of his El Guapo Stuntteam horror trilogy. "They stimulate my crazy side," he says.
