Joe Hythe 'Roadkill' by J. R. Dawson

Rob Ulitski - 17th Aug 2021

Following the mannequin romance concept in their previous collaboration for Ghost, J.R. Dawson teams up with singer-songwriter Joe Hythe for a second video - the heart-wrenching Roadkill.

Made on an ultra-low budget - with Dawson directing, shooting and editing - the video features the artist bloodied and bruised, intercutting between enigmatic scenes on an empty road, and his bathroom.

Embodying the catharsis of change and surrender, the concept ends with Hythe shaving his head and taking a drive to his next destination, cementing the idea of transition and transformation.
