The latest St. Vincent video - or "official visual" as it's labelled – follows the playful but unsettling aesthetic of the campaign around her latest album Masseducation, devised by Will Perron, Annie Clark, aka St.V's creative director.

Perron told The New Yorker that the idea behind the campaign was to create something “absurdist and sexual”, with “the energy of Pee-wee’s Playhouse, Bettlejuice, The Cramps, the B-52’s, with some chips of Blondie.” Appropriate particularly for Pills, which has that jerky kinetic quality of New York pop-rock of the late 70s and early 80s. And Philippa Price's visual fulfills the brief.
