Ed Sayers' film for Speech Debelle's song Terms & Conditions is an unusual hybrid between short drama with elements of documentary and a proper music video with a heavy theatrical slant. The latter aspect is not surprising as it was made in association with the legendary Royal Court Theatre.

British hip-hop artist and poet Debelle meets with actress Georgina Campbell (Murdered By My Boyfriend), who ushers her through a secret door into the Royal Court itself, for a session of improvised workshopping, which morphs into Speech Debelle's real one-off show at the theatre last summer.

The song itself explores toxic relationships, and Speech Debelle explains that in the film Georgina Campbell performs the role of her alter-ego. And this works because the singer and the actress have a palpable onscreen chemistry.

"We go back and forth like tennis and, although it’s another person, it’s really reflecting a relationship I had with myself," says Debelle. "Ed came up with the idea of us mirroring, which features throughout the video. We wanted it to be as though you can’t tell what’s reality and what’s fantasy."
