NAO 'Bad Blood' by Ian Pons Jewell

Ian Pons Jewell has directed this striking video for London-based singer NAO's Bad Blood (co-written by him and his producer Dobi Manolova) which inhabits a gritty, industrial building and follows the progress of a statuesque and completely nude woman (model Adja Kaba) with some mystifying supernatural powers.
Walking around the ruined factory, she encounters characters that look completely out of place - such as three mourners looking over an open casket - and then makes branches burst forth from their mouth and eyes.
Filmed in Manolova's native Bulgaria, and beautifully shot by Ben Fordesman, like much of Ian Pons Jewell's work, things are left entirely open to interpretation. We may not know who this beautiful yet fearsome woman is – life? death? Mother Nature herself? – but once seen, she's hard to forget...Â
