John Newman 'Come And Get It' by Alex Herron
Cat Velez - 8th June 2015
John Newman is still championing his retro soul sound on Come and Get It, the first single from his second album. But the singer has undergone a physical transformation. Now slimmed down, he plays a chic male icon caught up in the glitz and glamour of singer-songwriting success, in the stylish LA-set video directed by Alex Herron.
It sees Newman vying for the love of a beautiful woman, and left to smoulder darkly over his grand piano when she leaves him to return home to her partner - who has a few problems of his own. The black and white photography is beautiful, and finally, when the girl has made her choice, lush colour seeps into the image, starting with her hot-red stilettos as she walks into the foyer to console her new man...
