Ed Sheeran 'Photograph' by Emil Nava
Cat Velez - 13th May 2015
Ed Sheeran and Emil Nava's latest collaboration is a complete departure, in that they didn't shoot any orginal footage. They didn't need to. The endearing new video for Photograph is entirely compiled from home video footage of Ed Sheeran, firstly as a baby, then getting progressively older.
It's a bit like a pocket, four-plus minute version of Boyhood - which certainly proves that Ed's musical talent started early. All the footage was cut together by editor Ellie Johnson at Speade, who says: "I feel very privileged to have been a part of such a passion filled project. It's a testament to Emil and Ed's relationship that we were trusted with material of his entire life, allowing us to see into a very normal but completely fascinating childhood.
"From the start Emil knew we had something very special within reach," Ellie continues. "Fortunately the Sheeran family were also on board, and Ed's father kindly spent a weekend in central London with us as we tore through the 70+ hours looking for the pieces that made this little boy Ed Sheeran."
As a result, fans of Ed need to be careful. Cuteness levels are dangerously high.
