Tim Erem has directed an ultra-vibrant piece for the latest collaboration with Major Lazer and DJ Snake's catchy Lean On, featuring Danish singer MØ, which the artists describe as a homage to the people and culture of India. Focussing on MØ's performance, as she performs alongside Indian dancers, it was shot in a dazzling palace in Mumbai.

"India is special and its beauty absolutely humbled me," says Diplo. "When we toured there as Major Lazer, it was mind-blowing to see our fanbase, and we wanted to incorporate the attitude and positive vibes into our video and just do something that embodies the essence of Major Lazer. 

"Major Lazer has always been a culture mashup and to us, India feels like some kind of special creature with one foot in history and one firmly in the future. The experience is something we'll never forget."

To achieve the saturated look that Tim Erem was after, Mill colourist Matt Osborne used and enhanced the rich colours of the piece in the grade, careful not to detract attention from the lead singer, whilst also adding in a heavy film grain. "We used old Bollywood films as a reference, with lots of bright warm heavy saturated colours and warm skin tones," says Matt. "We then contrasted this in the bus scene by using heavy cyan blues to almost balance the film out, taking it away from the red tones."
