After the videos for Never Catch Me and Ready Err Not, the director known as Young Replicant addresses another track on the Flying Lotus album You're Dead! with a fresh approach to the record's overarching theme - death and the afterlife.

As a man lies on his deathbed, reality and dreamtime blurs. But the dying man's hallucinatory journey is not about to offer him much consolation. Quite the opposite it seems.

"I would mention the Tibetan Book of the Dead, but who wants to hear about that?" says Young Replicant. "It's a story about a father navigating through the afterlife bardo, the intermediate zone, towards a new state."

It's also a story that FlyLo aka Steven Ellison - who makes a rare appearance in one of his own videos, as part of a 'ghost chorus' that trails the father - says "encapsulates the meaning of the record...it's one of the most important moments on You’re Dead! and holds ideas I’m planning to explore in my future work.”
