John Strong's video for Thee Oh-Sees' Lupine Dominus – his first of two videos directed for the San Francisco-based garage-rock outfit – was filmed inside a strip club in Queens, New York last year.

It's a mini-psycho drama where a potentially explosive situation develops between two customers. And maybe you can see the endgame coming, but its carried off brilliantly by the director, who also acted as DoP, editor and producer.

He'll probably never have to multi-task like that again. Definitely a new director to watch, who's next video, for Foxygen, will be finished soon.
