Spiritualized 'Hey Jane' by AG Rojas

A remarkable video for Spiritualized's Hey Jane by AG Rojas, about an Atlanta transvestite - a prostitute, stripclub waitress and devoted parent, who leads a very dangerous life.

A remarkable video for Spiritualized's Hey Jane by AG Rojas, about an Atlanta transvestite - a prostitute, stripclub waitress and devoted parent, who leads a very dangerous life. AG's gripping film is entirely credible, due to the fact that he went to Atlanta and cast someone in the lead role with strong similarities to the character he'd written. "I had been wanting to shoot in the South for quite some time," he says. "When I heard the song, I felt like this was the one. The image of a transvestite walking down the street appeared after a few listens, and then I started writing. I wanted to take a character who would in most cases be portrayed as flamboyant and as a caricature, and instead ground them in the real world. "We saw quite a few transvestites and transsexuals in Atlanta, but our lead James Ross immediately became a frontrunner. I always try to cast people who I feel share an innate connection to the character I've written, and I'd written this character as having a young son - and James had one, who we also cast. There were too many similarities between the character and James to pass up. "I was given complete freedom from Jason and from the label, which is rare, especially for such a high profile artist." The result will have you on the edge of your seat... http://www.youtube.com/watchv=9U_EqgBWnmc
