Demonstrating the awesome power of the viral, even when executed by a couple of indie kids from Brooklyn, Erykah Badu has homaged Matt & Kim's video for Lessons Learned, (and sportingly given M&K on-screen credit) combining it with a JFK assassination metaphor.
Shot in Dallas on March 13th, the five minute clip sees Badu stripping off as she walks down Deeley Plaza - where John F Kennedy was assassinated. "Then we ran like hell," Badu has said.
Not surprisingly, the video has caused quite a stir - and Erykah has been charged with disorderly conduct for her trouble. Apart from the apparently genuine nudity, the production failed (or didn't try) to get the necessary permits for the 'guerrilla style' filming.
The video has now inspired an 'evolution of nudity in music videos' on Flavorpill. 'Evolution of music video' Now there's an idea...
