Jack Lightfoot directs a poignant live promo for Sam Tompkins, filmed at the Devon pub&nbsp;The Champ.&nbsp;The video for Phones In Heaven features an intimate performance in the pub, stripped-back and beautifully shot by DoP&nbsp;Michael O'Connor.&nbsp;"At the end of last year, after the tragic loss of his dad, Sam Tompkins inherited The Champ&nbsp;- a small local full of character situated in the beautiful town of Appledore in Devon,"&nbsp;Jack Lightfoot explains."Earlier this month, we took a trip down to The Champ to capture Sam performing in a place that meant so much to his Dad - and the same spot where Sam played his first-ever gigs from age 13."Evoking a strong sense of wistful nostalgia, the video is simple in its concept yet packed full of emotion,&nbsp;allowing viewers to focus on the flawless performance.&nbsp;There are more videos to come from this session, so keep an eye out for those in due course...&nbsp;

Having recently suffered the tragic loss of his father to suicide, Sam Tompkins has written the song Phones In Heaven, in order to make some sense of it. The video directed by Jack Lightfoot is also an important part of the process: it's a powerful visual which places Tompkins in an abstract office space, where his co-workers are name-tagged with emotions - represented different stages of grief.&nbsp;&nbsp;"This video means more to me than pretty much any piece of art I have ever made," says Sam Tompkins. "When I wrote Phones In Heaven, I wanted it to be directed at people who have lost a loved one suddenly to suicide.[imgtoken data:1]"I honestly don’t know many friendship groups compiled of men especially, who haven’t lost someone they know to it. I lost a friend of mine years back and it’s plagued me ever since, so I wanted this song to comfort people who have felt and still feel that sort of grief. That type of grief that stays open. The questions - the 'what ifs', the 'could I haves', maybe even the 'should I join them?'-type ones. It’s a mortifying feeling and so confusing."So, when my own dad, my hero decided to take his own life in November, my life instantly felt like it was falling apart all over again, but in a far worse way. I wondered what i would do without him. How i’d continue on in life for such a long time knowing he wasn’t gonna be there to see any of it. All i wanted was a sign. Just any sign that he’s fine. That’s what this song is about and what the video is about."&nbsp;"This was a very special video to work on," adds director Jack Lightfoot. "I don't think I could say it better than Sam himself."

It's safe to say that Laurel isn't in London anymore."To me, this is a narrative emblematic of times in your life when there comes a point where the only option is to move forward and let go of an old version of yourself that doesn't serve you anymore," she explains."It's the point where you reclaim yourself - even if there is pain in the process. You shed an old skin and start in a new one, through a journey of transformation."

Jack Lightfoot directs an absorbing lyric video for Sam Tompkins.&nbsp;In a simple yet compelling one-shot concept, we see Sam perform as the lighting transitions around him, and fluffy clouds pulsate like storm clouds.&nbsp;"It was great to be back on set again with Sam and the team," Lightfoot mentions, referencing Blindeye's&nbsp;three collaborations last year, including one he directed for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2022/10/19/sam-tompkins-lose-it-all-live-jack-lightfoot/78849">Lose It All.&nbsp;</a>"The creative came in from Mitchell Peryer, and we knew we wanted to run it as a simple locked-off one shot."We programmed lighting changes across the track to take us on a journey from sunset, to dusk, to night time, to dawn, whilst also playing with lighting inside the clouds to add another element to the video. And once again, all held together by Sam's stunning vocals."

When we fall into Laurel’s dream world where time-freezes, all the girls have weapons to protect themselves in some way."This feels like quite a rebellious image that links to the contrast in the lyrics of being a ‘good girl’ and a ‘bad one’ as women are stereotypically told to be in line and sweet. So it was fun playing with that and showing female energy in an empowering way."

Jack Lightfoot directs a touching exploration of brotherhood, in his promo for Sam Tompkins' latest single.&nbsp;Starring real-life siblings Sonnyboy and Buddy Skelton, the video for My Brother interweaves several narrative vignettes, set in an anachronistic, early Noughties time period.&nbsp;In the concept, the younger of the two brothers - Buddy - is struggling to connect with Sonnyboy, and feels left out when trying to spend time with him. This all changes when their father dies, and the two form an unbreakable bond and friendship.&nbsp;"It was great to team up with Sam again, this time in the director's chair," says Lightfoot.&nbsp;"Sam came up with the narrative, and having a younger brother myself it really struck a chord with me - we've certainly been through many similar situations together - sorry Tom!&nbsp;"I was delighted that we managed to land Sonnyboy and Buddy for the lead roles - they're such a talented family and look great on camera, they really took this video to the next level. 2010's boyband The Wanted are back, with an emotional&nbsp;promo from director Blake Claridge.Shot on Osea island, we see each of the artists attached to a parachute, having just landed in the idyllic location. They are guided towards each other by a mysterious woman, before reacquainting&nbsp;just in time for a mesmerising fireworks display.&nbsp;Talking about the project, Claridge says, "Shooting on an island in Essex in September&nbsp;wasn’t ideal but we certainly lucked out with the weather, which played in our favour of making the boys look great. Being part of creating a comeback video for where they are right now was wonderful to be a part of."Paying homage to their upbeat, glossy videos of yesteryear, Claridge has captured the energy of the band perfectly, blending the nostalgia of their original work with a more mature sensibility.&nbsp;
