London-based production company FRIEND have added several directors of leading US music video production outfit Doomsday Entertainment in the UK to their roster, and have directors from their Europe-based roster repped by Doomsday in the US in return.

It means that some of the leading American music video directors who are with Doomsday in the US are now working out of FRIEND on British commissions. That includes Hiro Murai, director of numerous acclaimed videos for Childish Gambino, Chet Faker (pictured), Flying Lotus and more, and winner of the Director of the Year award at the UKMVAs last year. 

Also now at FRIEND in the UK from the Doomsday roster is Carlos Lopez Estrada, who recently completed his third Clipping video, as well as videos for Black Taxi and Leal; Keith Musil, director of videos for Twin Shadow, Cloud Control and Wise Blood; Mimi Cave, best known for her Tune-Yards videos; and Nelson De Castro, who's work includes videos for Broken Bells and Digitalism. As previous to the FRIEND alliance, most of the Doomsday roster is repped in the UK by Alexa Haywood at FreeAgent UK, except Carlos and Nelson who are repped by OB Management for music videos.

Likewise, FRIEND directors Tim & Joe and That Go are now with Doomsday for commissions out of the US. TIm & Joe's work last year included the hugely popular video for Duke Dumont's Don't Look Back; and That Go's recent work includes acclaimed videos for Bat For Lashes, The Do and Låpsley.

Both FRIEND managing director Luke Jacobs and Doomsday owner Danielle Hinde have expressed their delight at new arrangement. “Doomsday are an incredible company, and we’re lucky to be working with them," Jacobs told PN. "Danielle Hinde and I share a similar belief in nurturing talent and we can’t wait to start this new partnership.”
