Red Fang ‘Wires’ by Rob "Whitey" McConnaughy

David Knight - 5th July 2011

Portland rockers Red Fang's latest collaboration with Rob "Whitey" McConnaughy - the sequel to the genius that is their video for Prehistoric Dog - came out a little while ago (so we've been a little remiss not having this on Promo before now).

In Wires, our heroes receive a cheque for $5,000 - the budget for their next video. Which they dutifully and wisely use to finance on a further episode of relentless destructive mayhem - their weapon of choice being a 1979 Chevy Impala station wagon. And they don't go over-budget neither. Also featuring a cameo from 'heavy metal comedian' Brian Posehn, Red Fang's John Sherman says: "Working with Whitey again was great, because we knew the end result would be amazing -- he doesn't half-ass. But it was also a little scary, because Whitey would do whatever it took to get the ultimate shot, even if it meant killing us." "Making it was a lot of fun, as you could imagine," adds Whitey McConnaughy. "I wanted to do <br/>video that was essentially one half narrative and one half reality/doc. The first part is narrative and the second part really happens, so I just had to capture that. "The Red Fang guys are a great fun-loving bunch, and I knew if I could capture their spirit the video would be hit. Plus destroying stuff is always a good time." http://www.youtube.com/watchv=zo8NFrmQ_S0&amp;feature=related
