Placebo’s Trigger Happy Hands by Andreas Nilsson

David Knight - 3rd Feb 2011

In Trigger Happy Hands, his short film-cum-video for Placebo, Andreas Nilsson brings us the story of Bubbles, who witnesses an act of terrible violence, and eventually is egged on to avenge that act by his new friends in the Militia. But then, what do you expect from a bunch of clowns.

But then, what do you expect from a bunch of clowns. It's a thought-provoking allegory of outsiderdom which is, as you'd expect from Andreas, darkly comic and memorably weird. Co-written by Nilsson and Jeff Tetreault, shot by Mattias Keonigswierser and edited by Ben Campbell at Cut & Run, the film was created in collaboration with Placebo's label Dreambrother and Atticus Clothing in another of those modern brand-sponsorship funding deals. And there are two cuts - the full-length ten minute short film and shorter pop vid version, both here.
