Skunk Anansie’s You Saved Me by Ben Foley

David Knight - 27th Jan 2011

The new Skunk Anansie video sees Ben Foley back in business with an idea that explores 'what if' vignettes through living stills. And unusually, the focus is on each bandmember, not just Skin.

The new Skunk Anansie video sees Ben Foley back in business with an idea that explores 'what if' vignettes through living stills. And unusually, the focus is on each bandmember, not just Skin. "Initially the band wrote a treatment with the idea of them each struggling with different vices," Ben explains. "It was important that the video featured the whole band equally so this was a good way to go. "I didn't want to make a video which is your basic acting narrative cut with performance. An early scene concept featured Skin in bed with different partners. To get this idea across with a bit of class and style I referenced the sex scene in My Own Private Idaho, in which the actors pose, frozen in time to get the idea across. "So, with limited budget, three rewrites and only six days to prep we spent the shoot shouting at everyone to keep still. It was quite surreal!"
