The Cordelier Club’s Don’t Let It Go By by Kent Hugo
David Knight - 14th Dec 2010
A tremendous stop motion performance video with some very impressive in-camera visual effects for the as-yet unsigned London indie-pop duo The Cordelier Club by Kent Hugo.
A tremendous stop motion performance video with some very impressive in-camera visual effects for the as-yet unsigned London indie-pop duo The Cordelier Club by Kent Hugo. After an intriguing first video for Babe Rainbow's Combed (co-directed with Alex Kurina) and Vadoinmessico's In Spain, this is arguably Kent's best one so far. Every frame was shot individually - 3000 of them - on location in Dungeness, Richmond Park, and Central London, and ultimately Alice and Richard Cordelier start to multiply - an effect created by strobe lighting and light painting on the shutter. Somehow this is even better for being a very indie-low budget idea combined with a poptastic track. And what's more, Richard is wearing boots formerly belonging to Sid Vicious. You haven't heard the last of any of this lot.
