Jara Moravec has directed a wonderfully heartfelt and uplifting video for the long-awaited return of Belgian-born singer-songwriter&nbsp;Stromae.Co-directed by&nbsp;Stromae’s creative director Luc Van Haver - the brother of the artist, aka Paul Van Haver - the visual reflects the sentiment behind the song Santé, which is an ode to the people who seem invisible but yet are vital to our communities, often immigrants from other cultures into those communities. It's a call for respect to the ones who keep everything going, without ever receiving recognition.So Moravec&nbsp;and Van Haver introduce us to this world of forgotten workers -&nbsp;the fishermen, cleaners, bakers, cooks and office workers - who during the course of the video are all drawn into a basic, part animated dance tutorial that appears on their TVs, which is presented by Stromae.It's shot in a humane documentary-style, and the authenticity of these unsung heroes is unquestionable - but as the dance tutorial starts to make its influence felt upon these initially tentative participants, a sense of euphoria grows.With this wonderful song - influenced, as is so much of Stromae's music by his Congolese roots - the effect is transcendent.[imgtoken data:1]

Charli XCX and Colin Solal Cardo team up for White Mercedes, their second video collaboration.&nbsp;We open with Charli sitting in a white Mercedes, performing to camera - so far so normal right? Apart from this Mercedes is suspended vertically from a crane, and Charli is effortlessly delivering her lines in a similarly vertical position. My knees hurt just thinking about it.&nbsp;Then Charli is riding&nbsp;a monster truck crushing cars in its path, performing alongside a white horse and dancing in front of breathtaking scenery. The art-direction is on point, featuring stunning minimalist props and backgrounds that are inkeeping with the soft pastel colour palette.&nbsp;It's dreamy with a hint of surrealism, and is another strong entry in Charli XCX's videography.&nbsp;

Colin Solal Cardo rises to the challenge of directing Robyn’s latest visual - a classic, electrifying performance in a sandy ruin.&nbsp;Robyn's&nbsp;visual canon&nbsp;has a mythical prestige. Before she was a name in the UK, her devastating video for With Every Heartbeat&nbsp;was in heavy circulation; Dancing On My Own&nbsp;wouldn’t be the gay anthem it is today without Max Vitali’s video&nbsp;and the singer's glorious power stance in it; and Call Your Girlfriend&nbsp;is one of the most imitated dance sequences on the internet.These iconic pieces feel like the work of the same artist, but the common denominator is difficult to pin down. But at the heart of these videos are Robyn’s exhilarating performances. Her soprano voice can communicate a range and complexity of emotion in one bar, and these qualities bleed into her dancing. She is simultaneously strong and vulnerable, relatable and inaccessible, dorky and composed.And this is completely true of Solal Cardo's video for Ever Again.&nbsp;Most recently, he helmed a genre-bending project for Christine and the Queens. If this really&nbsp;is her last heartbreak, it’ll be a great loss.&nbsp;

Sigrid teleports between daytime reality and nighttime craziness -&nbsp;featuring&nbsp;rollerskating ghosts, a party-riot, and escaping from a marching band in a supermarket - in French directing duo AB/CD/CD's&nbsp;effervescent, vibrantly&nbsp;inventive&nbsp;video for Sucker Punch.The directors - that's Camille Dauteuille and Clément Dozier - were inspired by the eclectic nature of Sucker Punch to dispatch Sigrid into a series of mad adventures when daylight literally switches off. And then, with more brilliantly executed&nbsp;transitions, she gets thrown into her next daytime scene.While DoP Rob Witt's superb photography makes&nbsp;her larger than life,&nbsp;the art direction involved bringing in some distinctly&nbsp;Norwegian features to give Sigrid a taste of her homeland - like jumping through her own-branded taco boxes to escape that marching band. And it culminates in a swirl of tiny vignettes where she&nbsp;actually throws punches and turns into two animated avatars - including a seriously powerful 'anime' Sigrid. Since the <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2017/09/20/yael-naim-coward-paul-luc-martin" target="_blank">delightful video for Yael Naim</a>, Paul Van Haver has confidently progressed as a director with partners Luc Junior Tam and Martin Scali - a concurrent career for Van Haver to his hugely successful one in music as Stromae. And now he&#39;s on both sides of the camera for the first time, for Stromae&#39;s team-up with French rapper Orelsan.The result is a very cool, entertaining VFX-enhanced performance video for La Pluie, that sees the partners in a number of eyecatching&nbsp;scenarios from a flooded supermarket aisle&nbsp;to a bus stop packed with people like a can of sardines, the back of a drifting boy racer to walking on the tops of umbrellas.It&#39;s a video that channels an old school hop hop video style&nbsp;and gives it a distinctly European feel. And it&#39;s very good to see the super-talented Stromae on camera again.
