The threat of conflict hangs over a young girl's head, in Paola Kudacki's affecting promo for Waiting On A War - her second video for Foo Fighters.&nbsp;Drawing parallels between intergenerational fears of war and destruction, the video opens with a teenage girl - played by&nbsp;Thalia Gerloff - pacing about a desolate wasteland, isolated and broken.&nbsp;Intercutting nostalgic memories of carefree times, the concept builds to a riotous crescendo, with the younger generation fighting back against outdated institutions and ideals.&nbsp;It's a striking piece, anchored by gloomy, haunting cinematography and an overarching expectation of disaster. At the same time, a glimmer of hope remains, suggesting that things might improve if we can work out our issues as a society.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

After their Wes Anderson-tinged video for the ultra catchy Sometimes, Bryan Schlam and Oscar have teamed up again for Good Things.&nbsp;A saturated, colourful video presented in an aspect ratio reminiscent of&nbsp;medium format photography, we&#39;re presented with a series of surrealist&nbsp;vignettes (or as the title card suggests: &quot;A Disastrous Collection Of Fizzles and Flops&quot;.Aesthetically speaking, Bryan Schlam and Oscar are a pairing creating a great visual identity,&nbsp;managing to combine pop culture references with their own contemporary style to create a series of videos that have a collective identity,&nbsp;whilst still standing up on the strength of their ideas - much like the pairing of Ace Norton and Darwin Deez about six or seven years ago.

The title frame of&nbsp;Bryan Schlam&#39;s video for Oscar&#39;s Sometimes comes with a big claim, promising&nbsp;&#39;a fantastic journey through the West featuring the finest clubs and organizations our great nation has to offer&#39;.Happily, Schalm delivers in spades in this very enjoyable promo in which the British indie-rocker (whose debut LP Cut And Paste comes out in May) encounters all manner of hobby groups &ndash;&nbsp;from The Lawn Bowling Club and The Riverside Live Steamers (the model train enthusiasts)&nbsp;to The Cal State Grand Terrace Jam Skaters and The Dazzlers. Oscar&nbsp;rarely puts his guitar down throughout, and certainly looks like he&#39;s having a great time.There&#39;s also a clear&nbsp;stylistic debt to Wes Anderson,&nbsp;but the video&#39;s joie de vivre is&nbsp;all its own.&nbsp;
