Videos of the Month – May 2015
Promonews - 2nd June 2015
The month of May brought a host of great videos, making it very difficult (as always) to narrow down our picks to a reasonably-sized playlist.
Eva Michon's video for Death From Above 1979's Virgins got us off to a good start at the beginning of the month, with plenty of humorous sequences of Amish Youth taking a walk on the wild side. Another stand-out video was James Frost's promo for Alabama Shakes' Sound & Color, which brought us a cinematic, heart-wrenching sci-fi scene that had us wishing it was a feature length film.
Slaves' Cheer Up London by Ben & Ross reminded post-election Brits to try to keep that smile on their face. There was notable animation from Natalia Stuyk for Django Django, Bug and Sluzzy for Run The Jewels and particularly Nathan Johnson for Son Lux.
The month ended with Ewan McGregor's charming turn for Catfish & The Bottlemen and Ian Pons Jewell's devastating vision of ghetto America for Vince Staples. There was also the marvellous Hook N Sling vid by dream team Nelson de Castro and Carlos Lopez Estrada - and Harrys' beautifully crafted new video for Toro Y Moi (above).
And much, much more...
