Roísín Murphy joins line-up for MusicVidFest

Singer and songwriter-turned music video director Roísín Murphy has been added to the array of panellists lined up to discuss the current state of music videos at MusicVidFest, the all-day conference being held tomorrow (November 4th) at the BFI Southbank.
Murphy – who has directed the first three videos from her current Mercury-nominated album Hairless Toys – will join the Question Time panel, the final session of the day, with panellists answering general questions about the music video industry. Joining her on the panel will be Jamie Clark, executive producer at My Accomplice; Dan Curwin, senior video commissioner at Atlantic Records; James Hackett, senior video commissioner at Virgin EMI; and Sing J Lee, director at Partizan. The Question Time session will be moderated by Eliza Williams, associate editor of Creative Review.
In a busy day of talks and discussions, top directors Ninian Doff and Vania Heymann will join a panel of VFX artists for the Post Production session; leading exponents of VR development will talk about what the technology will offer music videos in the near future; music analyst Tim Mulligan reveals findings from audience data on music video consumption on YouTube.
Furthermore, top DoPs Steve Annis and Adam Scarth offer at masterclass in music video cinematography; Dougal Wilson shows how he developed his directing skills by making msuic videos; and Sony Music's Mike O'Keefe, the most senior video commissioner in the UK, delivers the conference keynote speech.
