UK Music Video Awards 2015: two day left to enter work – including Live Music Coverage, Best Music Documentary and Best Interactive Video categories!

Cat Velez - 9th Aug 2015

There’s just two day left to enter work in most of the awards categories at the UK Music Video Awards 2015, the big party of the year for UK music videos, and the premiere celebration of music video creativity anywhere. The deadline for entries is on Tuesday, August 11th at midnight (BST).

It includes three awards that honour other forms of music-orientated visuals beyond the conventional music video medium.

• Best Live Music Coverage
This category is for the best visual coverage of a live music performance from the last year, with the award going to the director and the commissioner of the winning work.

• Best Music Documentary
This new category recognises longform documentaries which focus on music subjects, for example, artists, bands, labels, studios, events, etc completed in the past year. The award will go to the director and commission of the winning film.

• Best Interactive Video
This award is for any piece of work that uses interactivity to extend the boundaries of music video and the visual representation of music and promotion of music generally through innovative ideas and the creative use of technology. And as with the above awards, the Best Interactive Video award is open to both UK and international entries.

• Best Lyric Video
Our second new category for this year celebrates the proliferation of the lyric video, and will see the directors of the most creative examples honoured alongside their commissioners.

For all four of these categories there is no round 1 voting. All entries in best interactive video and best lyric video are viewed in a live judging session and judges are asked to vote in a secret ballot. For the longer form categories, judges are given a chance to watch the films ahead of the live judging session at which they discuss the entries and vote in a secret ballot. in all cases, their votes decide the nominations and ultimate winner.

Entrants for best interactive video, best music documentary and best live coverage will need to supply some additional info for the judging session including a written document and, in the case of live coverage and music documentary, the full length film on dvd. We will contact you once the entry deadline has passed to request this info.

Find out more information on these and all the other categories at the UKMVAs 2015 website, where you can also check out the judging criteria for all the awards.

The UK Music Video Awards 2015 takes place at Roundhouse in Camden on November 5th 2015.
