Russell Weekes recently directed the clip for Laura Marling's Night Terror - which is set at night, but not very terrifying. This is something he made earlier, and like Night Terror, it's packed with ideas, giving new uses to commonplace objects to arrive at a quiet, very English surrealism.

And despite a budget of a few pence, he is going for a biggie here. "I thought I'd try to be ambitious so I set out to make a video recreating the seven days of creation," explains Russell. "The aim was to come up with lots of little ideas making light, people and planets, etc., and then find different ways to connect them all together." And you can do pretty much anything with balloons...
