ThinkSync Films, the competition where filmmakers can use music supplied by independent labels to enhance their short films, has announced a shortlist of six films for its 2008 prize.

Actors Danny Dyer, Joe Absolom and Stirling Gallagher are among those performing in the selected films, and the music used includes Nightjar by Coldplay's Jon Hopkins, Blockhead's Triptych part 3 and Cleanliness Is Next To Godliness by Strings of Consciousness. The winning film will be announced at the ThinkSync Films Awards Party on July 30th - held in conjunction with the Rushes Soho Shorts Festival - where the films will also premiere. Last year's winner, <em>Bigboy_74</em> by Tom Marshall, went on to win the BBC Brief Encounters comedy award and aired on BBC3, and has just swept the top awards at The Milwaukee Short Film Festival.
