Willie J Healey 'Heavy Traffic' by Joe Wheatley
Promonews - 5th Nov 2020
The latest in Willie J Healey and Joe Wheatley's marvellous series of collaborations this year - including the UKMVA-nominated True Stereo - sees Willie head to the gym for an energetic workout, with a squad of feisty ballerinas.
Like an indie version of Taylor Swift in Shake It Off, Willie is a fish out of water among more elegant associates to start with - but eventually the ballerinas come around to his way of moving. It's a suitably uplifting end to the visual campaign around his superb Twin Heavy album.Â
And as with the video for Fashun, director Wheatley has a cameo in the video - in a dramatised account of how they came up with the idea for this one...
Â
JOE WHEATLEY:
Willie and IÂ play 'idea-tennis', and on this occasion it was his serve.
"This video marks the end of a great year working with Will. We might have some other stuff cooking but I think this is the last release from his amazing album.
"Our relationship has become so shorthand that we kind of play 'idea tennis' - on this occasion it was his serve, and it came in the form of a voice message. We did an intro for the Fashun video and figured it would be fun to do again, so I just reused what he sent me.
"I wanted Will to answer the phone to himself but he insisted on a cameo for me..."
