Principe Valiente 'Strangers In The Night' by Jacob Frössén

In keeping with the Eighties vibe of post-punk/shoegaze outfit Principe Valiente, Swedish director Jacob Frössén (his other work includes the acclaimed documentary films En film om Olle Ljungström and Henric De La Cour) establishes a heroic mood with clever visual devices that combine old school and modern techniques.
The band shot performing Strangers In the Night (from new album Oceans, and nothing to do with the Sinatra tune) in backlight become virtual sillhouettes, the footage is manipulated and merged into epic stills, and everything is washed in crimson pink - like a My Bloody Valentine album cover. The result is appropriately atmospheric and entirely watchable. Who doesn't love a band who sound like a combination of Joy Division, New Order, and Psychedelic Furs anyway...
