Cumhur Jay 'On & On' by Akihiko Taniguchi
Luke Bather - 17th June 2016
Akihiko Taniguchi uses Cumhur Jay's instrumentals as a foundation for some bizarre and incredible glitched-out grooving.
With a floating camera erratically circling around the only character in this entire video, and a strange mix of CGI and photo scans, this feels like you've accidentally stumbled into an error-laden corner of Second Life. And then, of course, the character starts to dance and the settings become more absurd. And soon you're looking at a giant line of clones all dancing fluidly and blending in and out of one another.
It's hypnotic as much as it is disconcerting. Before you know it you've been sucked into this weird world for five solid minutes, and then it's over and you have to face the fact that whenever you dance, there won't be five perfect replicas of you intertwining with your body in a gorgeous display.
If only...
