Having directed a stop-motion video for The Bishops' Nowhere To Run a couple of years ago, director Ben Aston and animator Nick Black's have now come up with an awesome achievement in rotoscoping for The Bishops' new single Polygonn – in a style which is somewhat reminiscent of Steve Barron's classic video for A-Ha's Take On Me.

Having filmed the band performing, and then some pick-up shots to build a story around the performance, Nick hand-traced over every frame of footage - shot at 12 frames a second. That added up to over 2,500 individual illustrations – and it took him six months to do it.

Ben describes this as "a helluva lot of surprisingly fun work!" - perhaps because he wasn't doing the tracing. "We were really interested in seeing what a rotoscope video would look like handheld – messy, as it turns out – and kind of just went with that aesthetic in all the crazy detritus on screen."
