Relaxing in oppulent splendour, TEED singer Orlando Higgenbottom slips on a tape of his new single and instantly gets transported off to a far away land (Japan) in Dawid Kr?pski's excellent promo for Your Love. "I've always hoped one day i could make a video reminiscent of a Japanese haiku poem" explains Dawid. "Luckily I went for a short and intense trip to Japan earlier this year and decided to shoot hundreds of "moving pictures" throughout the journey - I shot them according to some rules, so that I could keep up some sort of visual consistency. During the editing process, I made sure every image was connected to the previous one through an association, a visual detail or a theme.
"I wanted the video to be two types of visual journeys - one for the main character and one for the audience.
In the video, Orlando travels by listening to the tape and hopefully, the viewer goes on his own trip while watching the stream of images.
"When I heard the song for the first time I immediately connected with my "haiku video" idea but i still can't pinpoint why. Instead of writting a treatment, I edited a short video preview for the artist. His reaction was very positive, so i kept my imagination running wild to come up with this story of a machine that inserts memories. He had a very precise idea of how he wanted to look in the video and chose the absolutely incredible outfit made by a young designer called Alex Mullins.
"Orlando and I regularly exchanged ideas during the making of the video. Everything went really smoothly, both of us sharing a very similar vision. In the end, I think this collaboration really serves TEED's music visually". http://www.youtube.com/watchv=2wttcQKlI9I
