With shades of Watership Down, Nir Ben Jacobs' directing debut is a considerable achievement: beautifully animated and heart-in-mouth gripping.
With shades of Watership Down, Nir Ben Jacobs' directing debut is a considerable achievement: beautifully animated and heart-in-mouth gripping. It is also the result of some commendable persistence as he explains: "When I first listened to the album [You & Me], On The Water immediately stood out as a unique track. That night I drew up a storyboard and some concept art, and emailed their management. And I didn't hear back for about half a year. "They were having a show a few months ago so I told some friends to take the pitch and try to get it to the band. By pure serendipity, it worked." It took the unsigned Jacob two and a half months to complete. "Fun fact - I used my own face for the hunter," he reveals.
