UK Music Video Awards 2017: entry deadline extended to August 8th!

Promo News - 1st Aug 2017

The entry deadline for over 30 categories at the UK Music Video Awards 2017 has been extended from tomorrow, August 2nd, to next Tuesday, August 8th.

That means there are now six additional days to enter the UK Music Video Awards 2017. All work must be uploaded to the judging platform by midnight in the UK (BST) on August 8th.

To enter a video to be considered for a music genre, technical achievement, or interactive award, go to the enter now page at the UKMVAs 2017 website, fill in the online entry form, pay the entry fee and upload the video to the online judging platform, ready for the first round of judging for this year’s MVAs.

For the new Best Live Concert and Best Live Session awards, go the enter now page, fill in the online entry form, pay the entry fee and submit a three-minute excerpt of the film to the online platform. A full-length version of the entry must be provided on disc before the final judging session.

If you wish to submit a person to one of the individual awards at the MVAs - for best director, producer, new director, commissioner, or best artist – for their body of work in music video for the past year, go to the enter now page, complete the entry form, pay the fee, then add the name of the individual, individuals, or music act you wish to submit for judging, adding links to their work.

Similarly, for the new Best Production Company award, go to the enter now page, complete the entry form, pay the fee, then add the name of the company you wish to submit for judging, adding links to their work.

There are 15 Best Video categories to choose from, for music videos of all types and budgets made in the past year, completed and approved between August 1st 2016, to July 31st 2017. Each music genre – Pop, Dance, Urban, Indie/Rock and Alternative, has its own UK, International and Newcomer award (the latter for a video made for under GB£5K, designed to recognise newcomer directing talent.)  In addition, there is a category for Best Interactive video.

There are eight technical achievement categories: Animation, Cinematography, Choreography, Colour Grading, Editing, Production Design, Styling, and VFX. A full list of awards and their rules of entry can also be found at the UKMVAs website. You can also contact the UKMVA team at info@ukmva.com with any queries.

The UK Music Video Awards 2017 and aftershow party takes place at legendary venue The Roundhouse in Camden Town, London on October 26th 2017. Information on when tickets will go on sale for the music video industry event of the year is coming soon.
