Pulse appoints Rik Green and Alli Maxwell as music video heads in London and LA

Promo News - 11th May 2017

Pulse Films has appointed Rik Green and Alli Maxwell to head up their music divisions in the UK and US respectively.

Following the departure of Sarah Boardman, Green has been promoted to executive producer of Pulse's music department in London, while Allie Maxwell has been appointed to the same position in Los Angeles.

Green has been with Pulse since 2012, and has gone on to produce some of the company's most acclaimed work in music videos including Miike Snow's Genghis Khan (directed by Ninian Doff), DJ Shadow & Run the Jewels' Nobody Speak (Sam Pilling), Bonobo's No Reason (Oscar Hudson) and most recently produced Process, Kahlil Joseph’s film for Sampha which launched globally on Apple Music. He was also recognised at the 2016 UKMVAs with a nomination for Best Producer.

"I’m really excited to be stepping up into this new role having been part of the Pulse family for the past four years," says Rik Green. "I’m looking forward to building on the incredible momentum we have created in our music division and inspiring the outstanding roster of talent we have so that our work continues to be ambitious, fearless and singular as it can be. I’m also excited to be working closely with Alli Maxwell, who I know will be trailblazing for Pulse on the US side of the business.”

Maxwell joins Pulse having established herself with a career spanning music videos, commercials, branded entertainment, VR and feature film. Previously based in New York before relocating to Los Angeles, Maxwell has led on projects for the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Madonna, The Black Keys, Samsung, Netflix among many others. Now she will spearhead the music division out of Pulse’s LA office.

“I am excited by Pulse —  the way they think outside the box and the possibilities that yields to bring new and fresh ideas to the industry," says Maxwell. I am honoured to think with this team... that sees opportunity where others see limitations. We live in exceedingly divisive times, but music and creative expression gives me hope. To paraphrase and reinterpret Thomas Jefferson: A little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the creative world as storms in the physical.”

Marisa Clifford, CEO of Pulse Films, has said of the appointments: “Rik has produced some of Pulse’s most acclaimed work to date, and will smash it as our new EP in the UK. I am also delighted to welcome Alli to our US team. With her background and experience, I look forward to seeing her lead and grow the US music division. It’s a really exciting time for Pulse Films."
