MusicVidFest 2016: The Content Panel

MusicVidFest 2016: The Content Panel

Promo News - 7th Nov 2016

Music visual content is more than music videos - increasingly so, as the big platforms crave more and more shortform content. So MusicVidFest 2016 has a panel dedicated to content, that will be looking at the opportunities for filmmakers to enter this 'non-music-video' market. Who commissions this content, what do the budgets look like, and are the videos that are made any good?

Also, how have things been changing recently in this area, and what does the near future look like? Is it an interesting sector to enter?

Caroline Bottomley of Radar Music Videos will be chairing the panel, talking to leading individuals involved in commissioning, producing and distributing this kind of content - including Island Records' marketing manager Johnny Brocklehurst, AEI Media's Craig Haynes and Believe Digital's Laurence James.

The session also kicks off with some hard facts about the consumption of online music video content - including revelations on the relationship between YouTube views and YouTube payments – from Tim Mulligan from MIDiA Research.

It promises to be one more very informative session at MusicVidFest 2106 - a whole day of insightful and inspiring panels and talks all about music videos - happening this Wednesday, November 9th at the BFI Southbank in London, from 9.30am. Head to the MusicVidFest website for the full programme and to buy a delegate pass.
