The video for Oscar's Sometimes, directed by Bryan Schlam, won Best Independent Video at the 2016 Aim Awards, celebrating the finest achievements in the world of independent artists, labels and live events, on Tuesday, September 6th.

The video came out top in a strong shortlist of videos that included Darwin Deez's The Mess She Made, directed by Oscar Hudson, Grimes' Kill V. Maim, directed by Grimes, Kaytranada's Lite Spots, directed by Martin C Pariseau, and Yeasayer's I Am Chemistry, directed by New Media Ltd.

The winning video, produced out of BLVD Industries in Los Angeles, involved up and coming indie-crooner Oscar Scheller touring California encountering different genuine hobby groups – from The Lawn Bowling Club and model train enthusiasts The Riverside Live Steamers, to The Cal State Grand Terrace Jam Skaters - with a stylistic debt to Wes Anderson. The video came out in February this year, shortly before the British indie-rocker's debut album Cut And Paste was released on Wichita Recordings.

As well as winning the award for Best Independent Video, Oscar also performed at the Aim Awards, held at The Brewery in London. Among the other winners at the awards, Roisin Murphy was given the award for Outstanding Contribution To Music, and XL Recordings' founder Richard Russell won the Pioneer Award.
