PPL Video Store relaunches in partnership with Vanderquest

Promo News - 25th Nov 2015

PPL Video Store and Vanderquest have merged their extensive archives of music videos to create one of the largest music video libraries in Europe, now available digitally for registered users of the expanded and re-launched PPL Video Store.

Vanderquest, the post-production house operating in the music and broadcast industries for over 30 years, is now managing the PPL Video Store, and has added 20,000 music videos in its own library, to the 20,000 videos that have been archived by PPL's sister company VPL since it was founded in 1984. The archive includes music videos such as Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, Pink Floyd’s The Wall and Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie.

Existing clients of PPL Video Store include major broadcasters such as the BBC and ITV, music award organisations such as The Brits and MOBO Awards, and major television production companies. All videos will now be stored and made available digitally with registered users able to search and source clips online.

Chief Licensing Officer at PPL, Jez Bell, said: “With music videos such an important component to so many broadcasters and businesses, this expanded, fully digitized and easily searchable database operated by our long term partner Vanderquest is another step to ensure we offer best in class service to our licensees and members.”

Managing director at Vanderquest, Nick Maingay added: “PPL is an industry leader, and has looked after the rights and promoted the value of music in the UK for over 80 years, and we look forward to building on their legacy.”
