Luke Monaghan, director of videos for Sam Smith, Disclosure, A$AP Rocky and others, and also a series of acclaimed short documentaries, has joined Riff Raff Films for music video and commercial representation in the UK.

The London-bred, LA-based Monaghan has directed two videos for Sam Smith this year: his narrative video for I'm Not the Only One starring Dianna Agron (above) following up Leave Your Lover. Last year, his work for Disclosure's White Noise was a Vimeo Staff Pick and has been an official selection for Raindance & SXSW Film Festivals as well as being Time Magazine’s 2nd best video of 2013.

Luke's A$AP Rocky’s documentary for UK’s Channel 4 showcased his versatility, which in turn led on to him working with Adidas and David Luiz for the Nike Brazil soccer jersey for the 2014 World Cup. He also released his short film Ezekiel last year, an experimental film about the youngest preacher in the US, which has been winning awards all over the short film circuit.

"Luke makes things, and he makes things happen," says Matt Fone, founder and MD of Riff Raff. "To meet up and work with someone like A$AP Rocky is interestingly different for a 25 year old white kid from London. It says a lot about his personality and ability; that’s mightily impressive. But it's not only in his documentary work but also in his narrative video for Sam Smith. Together it all becomes very appealing."

Luke adds: “I’m excited to make some great music videos and push forward my long form documentary and film work, but also with Riff Raff’s help, I really want to evolve my commercial work. I think with the help of Matt and the team at Riff Raff, we can make waves and ride those waves to all sorts of fame and fortune.”
