The UK Music Video Awards 2012 is now open!

The MVAs 2012 - the premier awards show dedicated to celebrating the best work in music videos from the UK and around the world - has launched today, with the new UK Music Video Awards 2012 website now accepting entries in a wide range of categories that recognise innovation, creativity and technical excellence in music videos and music-related visual content.

It's the start of the build-up that will lead to the fifth annual MVAs being held at a ceremony at the legendary Empire cinema in Leicester Square, London on Thursday, November 8th 2012.

This year's MVAs features all the awards that were included in last year's biggest-ever show - the first one held at The Empire. Once again, there are honours for best British, International and Budget video in each music genre recognized by the MVAs - Pop, Dance, Urban, Indie/Rock, and Alternative.

Here are the awards at the UK Music Video Awards 2012:

Entry to most of the awards above are open now on the newly retooled MVAs 2012 website, where entry to the awards to be made entirely online. All entered work must have been completed and delivered to its commissioner between August 1st 2011 and July 31st 2012.

Entry forms are to be found and completed at www.ukmva.com, and terms and conditions for entering the awards can be found at here. The deadline for entries for these categories is Friday, August 3rd.

As with previous years, following the entry deadline, all entries in the best video and technical achievement categories will be judged by the MVA Jury Members - invited members of the UK music video industry - via a two-round judging system. All entries will be initially judged by juries courtesy of the online voting platform. And for the first time, the judging platform for first-round online voting will be an integrated part of the MVAs website.

In the second round, juries will be voting on the final shortlist and winner. All Jury members will also be invited to vote on the Individual award categories. Invitations will be sent to those selected as MVA Jury Members in the next few weeks - and if you wish to ensure that you are considered as a Jury Member, please send an email entitled 'MVA Jury Membership' to the MVAs team at info@ukmva.com.

Nominations for the UK Music Video Awards 2012 will be announced in early October, ahead of the ceremony at The Empire in Leicester Square on November 8th.

Tickets for the MVAs 2012 and aftershow - the biggest party of the year for UK music videos - will also be on sale soon at the MVAs website.
