Warp Films are pulling out of music video production following the departure of Laura Tunstall, who is leaving to join Pulse Films. Tunstall launched the Warp Films music video department in 2007, and the company produced a series of acclaimed and award-winning videos, in particular the Richard Ayoade-directed videos for Arctic Monkeys (including Crying Lightning, right), Vampire Weekend, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Kasabian; plus work by James Caddick, James Lees, Daniel Brereton, China Moo-Young, Russell Weekes, Daniels and others. During that time she also commissioned videos for Warp Records - and will continue to do so. Mark Herbert (CEO) and Robin Gutch (MD) of Warp Films have confirmed that her move to Pulse has prompted their decision to close Warp's video output. "When Laura decided she wanted to move on, we felt that a natural stop had been reached and that we should concentrate our resources on building on the success of films like Submarine, and forthcoming titles Kill List and Tyrannosaur, and drama like This is England 86." Steve Beckett, co-founder and CEO of Warp Records, added: "I'm really sorry to be seeing Laura leave. She has done an incredible job of building up Warp Films music promo department from scratch. We have made many promos that we are really proud of." Laura Tunstall commented: "I have had an incredible time at Warp Films, it is an inspiring and exciting company to be a part of and I have been fortunate to work with some amazing directing talent. I'm extremely grateful to Mark, Steve and Robin and would like to thank them for the opportunities they have given me. It was a very difficult decision to leave, however I look forward to continuing our relationship and working together in the future." She joins Pulse as executive producer, and is likely to
