Runawaydreamz ft Lazerhawk ‘So Far Away’ by Marc Bertel

19-year old promo director Marc Bertel delivers a fashion/music hybrid for Los Angeles-based denim retailer Runawaydreamz. Shot mostly in South Central and downtown LA over one chaotic day, Bertel gathers a bunch of moped riders to chase three girls into the ‘golden hour’. DP Alex Disenhof creates a beautiful vibe full of slow-motion driving action, sun flares and American flags.
“Once again, my cast was kind enough to donate it’s time since we did this on a shoe-string budget and relatively spontaneous, without any permissions of course” explains Marc. “Being approached by the police twice during the shoot wasn’t really good for our nerves. Luckily, they only wanted to ‘have a look at the girls’ (you can see two police cars in the background at 0:44).
“We also learned that shooting in South Central can be actually quite fun and that the District Safety Patrol, even though they wrote down our details and pretended to, didn’t really issue a $1k fine. I guess pretending being a film student helps.”
