Having directed a couple of big Hollywood movies, The Road and Lawless, perhaps its no surprise that John Hillcoat’s video for How To Destroy Angels’ Ice Age, released late last year, is a peerlessly cinematic video and no less dramatic for being, for the most part, a straight performance.
But the beautiful cinematography by Linus Sandgren becomes progressively degraded, and the psychological darkness slowly comes to the surface… Just following in a tradition of great, unsettling Trent Reznor videos.
